Bether worn in hands, put to sleep on the ground without bed … 73 -year -old woman was sent back to Punjab from America

The story of the return of 73 -year -old Sikh woman Bibi Harjeet Kaur from America is very painful. The Department of Immigration (ICE) wearing handcuffs and took him to Georgia from California and then sent to Punjab by charter flight. During this time he did not get a chance to meet his family or lawyer. In the last 48 hours, he was not destined to bed, asked for food for medicines, only snow trays and one thing were given sandwich. Even when he asked for his denture, he was refused.

Harjeet Kaur, who has been living in the US for more than 30 years, was detained and sent to India by immigration officials in California earlier this week, she was not even given a chance to say goodbye to her relatives. The woman's lawyer gave this information.

His lawyer gave information on Instagram
In a post on 'Instagram' on Wednesday, Harjeet's lawyer advocate Deepak Ahluwalia said, 'Bibi ji (Harjeet Kaur) is returning to Punjab. She has already reached India. Immigration officials in California took Kaur into custody after regular investigation, causing anger among her family and community members.

Harjeet was living in America for 30 years
A report by the news portal 'Burkelside' earlier stated that Kaur, who has been living in East-Bi, Northern California for more than 30 years, was detained by immigration and boundary enforcement (ICE) officials during a regular investigation. Hundreds of members of her family and community protested against the demand for immediate release of Kaur.

The relatives did not even give a chance to say goodbye
Ahluwalia said that the immigration officer took Kaur to a custody center in Bakersfield. In the post, Ahluwalia claimed that Kaur was taken from Bakersfield to Los Angeles, from where she was seated on the aircraft for Georgia and then to New Delhi. He also claimed that Kaur's family members urged the officials to give their relatives a chance to say goodbye before being sent back, but were not allowed.

Ahluwalia said, 'We were successful in getting tickets for Kaur for Monday's flight, but at around two o'clock in the morning, they took him to Los Angeles with handcuffs from Bakersfield, and made him sit in Georgia flight without informing the lawyer or without informing the lawyer. ” He said that Kaur was kept in a custody of prisoners in Georgia.

Ahluwalia said, 'Kaur was not even given a bed for about 60-70 hours and she was forced to sleep by wearing a blanket on the ground. She could not even get up, because both of her knees had surgery. They were also not allowed to bathe all the time. After Armenia from Georgia, she came to Delhi by an ICE chartered aircraft.

Harjeet reached America with two sons in 1992
According to a report by 'ABC7 News', Kaur was allegedly living without any documents. She reached America with two sons in 1992. In 2012, her refuge application was rejected, but since then she has been doing 'sincere report' to the ICE in San Francisco every six months for more than 13 years.

The 'Burkslessed' report claimed that 'ICE had assured Kaur that she could live in the US under monitoring with the' Work Permit 'until her travel documents were received.

    Anger in Sikh community
Kaur's arrest and deployment has created resentment in the Sikh community. The Sikh Coalition called it a violation of the basic standards of humanity. The organization said, “Such behavior with any human being is disgusting, and a 73 -year -old woman is very embarrassing and inhuman to go through this situation.”

  • 'After the statement of witnesses, the case is wrong, the hearing of sensitive cases should be done everyday': Supreme Court

'After the statement of witnesses, the case is wrong, the hearing of sensitive cases should be done everyday': Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has said that in particularly sensitive cases, the practice of day-to-day hearing has been completely abolished and the courts should adopt it again. The court, considering the right to hearing quick hearing, as being inherent in Article 21 of the Constitution, said that all the High Courts should set up a committee to seriously discuss this issue for the benefit of the concerned district court.

Justice J. B. Pardiwala and Justice K. The bench of V. Vishwanathan said that it is necessary to understand the current social, political and administrative scenario, including the police methods, to return to the old practice of hearing on day-to-day basis.

Thirty years old practice completely ended

The bench said in its order of 22 September, 'Nearly thirty years old practice of day-to-day hearing in especially important or sensitive matters has been completely abolished. We believe that the time has come that the court should adopt this practice again.

This order of the Supreme Court has come on the petition of the CBI, in which in September last year, the order of granting bail to an accused was challenged by the Calcutta High Court in a rape case. The bench said that one of the major factors responsible for the delay in justice system is not to continuously hear criminal cases.

Hearing continues day by day after witnesses statement

The bench said that even in such cases, the court consider the evidence 'in pieces' using the discretion and the cases continue to last for several months or years. The bench said that the legal status is that once the statement of the witnesses, the court concerned should continue hearing day by day until all the witnesses have the statements, except the witnesses who have left the government lawyer.

The bench said that the Chief Justice of the High Court can instruct his administrative party to issue a circular to the concerned district judiciary, in which it is also mentioned that every investigation or hearing should be done quickly. The bench said that the hearing of the case should be completed by 31 December.

Jaishankar's comment amidst Trump's tough stance
His remarks have come amidst the strict stance of President Donald Trump on business and duty challenges as well as on immigration, including a new fee of US $ 100,000 on H-1B visa, mainly affecting Indian professionals. Can't run away from reality- Jaishankar
He said, 'This is a reality. You cannot run away from this reality. So how can we create a more acceptable, contemporary, skilled model of global workforce, which can be deployed in a decentralized, global workplace? Business finds its way- Jaishankar
Jaishankar said, 'We will see that there will be new and different business agreements between the countries, becoming part of this re -structured world, such decisions will be taken which may not be taken under normal circumstances. '' He said, “Even though uncertainty and not guessing aspects, there are aspects that can be present, but eventually business finds its way.”
